Summary

We calculate the flow in a sealed high pressure tank with opened nozzle.

The initial pressure in the tank is 1.0×107 Pa (= kg/(m・s2)). The outflow from the region "nozzle" starts at time 0 sec and the calculation is performed until time 0.0001 sec. The region "axis" is set to a symmetric boundary, and the other walls are set to no-slip walls. The calculation is performed as a 2-dimensional analysis.

Model Model

The meshes are as follows.

Mesh Meshes

The calculation result is as follows.

The pressure distribution at the final time shows the pressure waves reflected from the bottom of the tank.

Flow velocity at 5×10^-5 sec (U) Flow velocity at 5×10-5 sec (U)
Pressure at 5×10-5 sec (p) Pressure at 5×10-5 sec (p)
Flow velocity at final time (U) Flow velocity at final time (U)
Pressure at final time (p) Pressure at final time (p)
