FreeCAD: How to export shapes as STL file?

  1. Select a shape that you want to output on Tree View.

  2. Select [File]-[Export...] from menu bar.

  3. In [Export file] dialog, select [Mesh formats] from [Save as type].

  4. Enter the name of file to be output to [File name].

    • If you want to save data as ASCII formated STL, enter .ast as file extension (for example, Model.ast).
    • If you want to save data as binary formated STL, enter .stl as file extension (for example, Model.stl).

  5. Click Save to save the file.
